The Dominican Writers Conference 2020

We are seeking proposals for writing workshops and panel discussions.

Our Mission

DWC’s mission is to inspire and elevate emerging and seasoned Dominican Writers by providing them a space where they can be nurtured and feel included in the Dominican Diaspora. The Dominican Writers Conference offers participants an opportunity to attend intensive writing workshops, panels discussions, author readings and networking opportunities. The DWC was created by a group of Dominican Writers in New York who firmly believe that our stories must be told by us. This conference comes out of a need to change how society views Dominicans where the narratives are often stereotypes. The DWC is a literary event that redefines and affirms the experiences of Dominicans on the island and abroad. It is our intention to see more Dominican writers writing themselves into history. This conference is rooted in the mantra that WE EXIST, WE ARE HERE TO STAY, and OUR STORIES MATTER!
